Fresh from the garden!!!

Fresh Water.....

Rather than continuing to buy bottled water, we went online and found these glass bottles and jugs. We fill them with our filtered well water, and refrigerate some and keep some at room temperature. Water is always at the ready and we're not drinking plastics any more!

We hosted a photo shoot for a Park Place Magazine entertaining article about us and our farm.  It will appear March / April 2011.  We were worried we wouldn't have enough stuff fromm our garden..... we were wrong!  Nothing to worry about!  We're still eating from this harvest days later.

They're here!

The tomatoes are beginning to ripen.... There's going to be a flood of tomatoes once they start coming..... The plants are approaching 8' tall! Get the canning jars ready!

Bee hives assembled and ready to be painted!

I took the 'beeginners beekeeping class' last fall.  Getting ready to begin my apiary carreer.  Next step.... painting the outsides of the hives so I will be ready when the bees come in late May or early June!

Welcome Sara & Hazel !!!

Mini-donkeys!  We bought them from a local farm.  We went there to look at some baby pot-belly pigs she had, but we weren't really into them....... We'd like pigs, but have to really think about how and where to house them..... they need some warmth in the winters.  While there, we met Sara and Hazel, and really enjoyed their calm, sweet dispositions.  As they say..... got to the store for a quart of milk, come back with food for an army.......  Hazel is pregnant..... due end of June!  Our first baby on the farm.... Can't wait!

Time for a haircut!

Donatella getting a new 'do.
Springtime shearing of the llamas!  We will send the fiber away and have it cleaned.  Some of it will return as rovings (ready to be spun) and some of it will be spun into yarn!  This will be our first fiber from our llamas.

Conchita's new 'do

Bob the llama guy says female llamas don't fight.... 'they might just be playing....'

Puppies in the snow!

Lola and Zubin are Akbash puppies.  They are just under a year old here.  They live in our barn next to the sheep, goats, and turkeys.  When they are older, they will live in with them all, and protect them from anything that may come around.  For now, they are too young and playful..... they can only mix on leash and supervised...... they have no idea how big they are!
They don't mind at all..... We catch them sleeping in it all the time!
